Safe Gatherings
Do you feel God calling you to serve in a ministry area at Monticello United Methodist Church?  We would love you to have you serve God in this way!!

In order to protect God's children and offer the highest quality programming, some ministry areas require Safe Gatherings certification.  Safe Gatherings is a program developed by the Kansas East Annual Conference that safeguards children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities.  Through Safe Gatherings, you become a certified worker after having completed online training and a background check.  So, begin your journey to serving God's children today by completing the Safe Gatherings training program!!!

Your online program begins a short 10-minute registration process during which you'll provide information for a background check and pay your fee.  After you register, you'll have 30 days to complete a 90-minute online training and answer a few simple quiz questions.  From there, the Conference processes your registration and background and notifies you of your results.  Your certification will be valid for 4 years after you receive it.

The ministry areas that require certification at Monticello are:
  • All pastors
  • All church staff in any role, including all preschool staff
  • All committee chairpersons
