Holy Week & Easter (Apr 13-20), updated

Holy week is a special time we prepare our hearts and minds for the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.   During this 4-week period, Monticello hosts several events designed to help you connect with God this season.  We'll save a seat for you!!  The Holy Week events include:
 
Saturday, April 12: Easter Egg Hunt, children of all ages are welcome at this special free event hosted by our student ministries and preschool ministries departments. click here for details

Sunday, April 13: Palm Sunday, 10:30am, experience the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, wave the Palm branches, and begin the journey toward the cross.  Childcare and special programming for elementary children is available too.  Our own Joyful Noise Children's Music will lead us in worship.

Thursday, April 17: Maundy Thursday Worship, 7:00pm, new this year, walk the journey to the cross in a special evening that beginsat 7:00pm with a service of music, scripture, and drama.  Mid-way through worship, our Chancel Choir will present, "Lenten Sketches."  Childcare is provided.

Friday, April 18: Good Friday, 3:00pm, join us for this solemn service marking the time theologians believe Jesus died.  This is a service of quiet music, scripture, and candlelight, closing with communion. As this is during school, childcare is not provided but children are welcome in worship as you see fit.  After worship, the sanctuary will remain open for a quiet time of prayer.

Sunday, April 20 : Easter Sunday, Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  
  • 8:30am, Early Worship in the sanctuary with blended music and holy communion, led by our music staff and band.  Nursery care will be available, but special children's programming happens at 10:30am only.
  • 9:30am, Easter Brunch, everyone is welcome at this free morning breakfast.
  • 10:30am, Late Worship in the sanctuary with blended music and holy communion, led by our band and chancel choir.  Nursery care and special children's worship programming is also available.
