 Ensure that no child or adult has to live in a home without adequate furniture. Furnish hope to those in need in Kansas City by meeting at Church of the Resurrection (COR) to collect, prepare and distribute donated furnishings and home essentials, transforming the lives of program participants, donors, and servants into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This FAITH WORKS ministry is leading an effort to recycle all household goods and is especially geared for The Rock youth at MUMC, but all interested adults as well as children 8 to 11-years-old who are accompanied by a parent are very welcome. Drive on your own and meet at the COR parking lot no later than 8am. Once at COR, we will complete all necessary registration and waivers. After registration, we will help check-in donated furniture and put together Care Kits until about 10am. Then we will follow the furniture trucks to My Father's House warehouse. Make sure to wear close-toed shoes for protection, and appropriate clothing! FYI - lunch will be provided! You are welcome to donate. Donated items processed include all things that can make a house a home - from beds, dressers, tables, sofas and lamps, to kitchenware, bath necessities and home decor. All items are offered free of charge without limitation. The ministry is able to restore or recycle 98% of those items which are deemed broken or in a condition that is inappropriate to give away. All items are tax deductible. When: Saturday, October 4th, 2014 from 8am to 2:00pm. (Lunch will be provided.)
